Setting Up Deduction Types

Deductions are anything subtracted from an employee’s pay. These are things like union dues, loan repayments, or insurance. Each type of deduction needs to be recorded in TTPay’s Deductions table before it can be applied to an employee.

Where to find it: Setup > Compensation > Deductions > Deduction Table

Steps

  1. Press F4 or click New to add a new deduction type.
  2. Enter a reference code and description for the deduction, the same way you would for an earning type (see Setting Up Earnings Types).
  3. To see which employees currently have this deduction applied, click the Employees >> button.

Tax-related deductions — PAYE, National Insurance (NIS), and Health Surcharge — are handled separately in the Tax Tables rather than here. See Understanding Tax Tables.
