These four setup tables work almost identically — each one just stores a short code reference and a description that you can then use elsewhere in TTPay (like on an employee record). This article covers all four together as a quick reference.

Departments (Workgroups)

Workgroups let you track hours and costs by department or team, and record who manages each one.

Where to find it: Setup > General > Organisation > Department

  1. Press F4 or click New to add a new workgroup.
  2. Workgroup Reference — a code of up to six characters that identifies the workgroup.
  3. Workgroup — the name or description of the workgroup.

Division

Divisions let you group your workgroups into broader categories — for example, grouping several departmental workgroups under one region, business unit, or company division.

Where to find it: Setup > General > Organisation > Division

  1. Press F4 or the Down Arrow to add a new skill.
  2. Division Reference — a code of up to six characters that identifies the division.
  3. Division — the name or description of the division.

Positions

Positions let you group employees by rank or job title.

Where to find it: Setup > General > Job Title

  1. Press F4 or click New to add a new position.
  2. Position Reference — a six-character code that identifies the position.
  3. Position — the name or description of the position.

Skills

The Skills table records what skills each employee has. Each skill only needs to be entered once — you’ll see a list of employees who have that skill appear below it.

Where to find it: Setup > General > Skill

  1. Press F4 or click New to add a new skill.
  2. Skill Reference — a six-character code that identifies the skill.
  3. Skill — a short description of the skill.
