Every kind of payment your company makes to employees (salary, overtime, bonus, allowance) needs to be set up as an “Earning” in TTPay before it can be used on a payroll worksheet.
Where to find it: Setup > Compensation > Earnings > Earnings Table

- Press F4 or click New to add a new earning type.
- Enter the Reference and Earning Details.
- Fill in the remaining options for this earning (see Terms below) — you don’t need to set every one, only what applies to this type of earning.
Terms
- Order — controls what order this earning prints in on reports and payslips.
- PCT Tax — the percentage of this earning that is taxable.
- Use Rule TSheet — turn this on if this earning should be included when timesheets are processed.
- Standard — turn this on if the employee’s usual rate for this earning should automatically be pulled onto the worksheet.
- Earning/Non Benefit — turn this on for earnings only (not benefits). It affects how total hours and days worked are calculated.
- Auto Day Rate — turn this on if you want TTPay to automatically work out a day rate based on the number of days in the pay period, using the SALARY earning.
- Restricted? — reserved for the TTPay Administrator; leave as is unless instructed otherwise.
- Default GL Ref — the default general ledger (accounting) code this earning should post to.
- Earning Classification (TD4) — which section of the TD4 tax form this earning belongs to. Choose one from the drop-down list.
